There are a lot of organic/natural options out there, many of which should be better for the world and last longer (though that'd be worth vetting first)--and have the added advantage of not leaving you sleeping on something with any nasty chemicals.

Check out http://www.daxstores.com/organic-bedding.html for lots of different options, including pillows made with wool, organic cotton, latex, kapok, or buckwheat. That online store usually has pretty good prices (relatively speaking) on such things--they have the most economical organic crib mattress that we could find for our little one.

I would probably want to try the pillows out in person, though, to make sure I like how they feel--depending where you're located, you might be able to find a local store that carries such things.  Good luck! I'll be interested to read the other comments since we're on the same search.
