Infant care in San Francisco

I have started looking for childcare for my son who will be about 3 months in September 2012, but I'm not having much luck. It seems like the waiting lists for day cares are really long, and costs are extremely high. I'm starting to get frustrated because I feel like our options are really limited.

Ideally, we would be looking for a day care (home based or "school" type day care would be fine) within walking distance of Alamo Square Park. We would also consider a nanny share situation if it was close by. Due to costs, we think a share care arrangement would be better for us than hiring our own nanny.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks!

Mission/Noe Nanny Share Care

My wife and I are currently looking for a Nanny/share care group for our 11 month old daughter Penelope. We are living in the Noe Valley/Mission area (San Jose and 25th St) and currently have Penny in day care 2 days a week. My wife is going back to work full time soon, so we think now would be an appropriate time to look into full time care. Our ideal situation would be to share a full time nanny with another family that lives nearby. If you live in San Francisco and are looking into the same thing, please contact me. Additionally, if you have a full time nanny that could also look after an 11 month old, we would be very interested in meeting with you.

Thanks,

Chris Adams
Chris@susanchastain.com
626-215-2747

My wife and I will be moving to San Francisco at the end of May to begin medical residencies. My wife will be in internal medicine and I will be in pediatrics. We are interested in a full or part-time nanny share for our son who will be 6 months old at that time. We will be living within either walking or biking distance of California Pacific Medical Center and would prefer something close to there but I will be driving to work in Oakland and can drop off our son in a more distant neighborhood. We have yet to find a nanny so if you have a nanny already that would be great. Also, if you are a nanny please feel free to tell us a bit about yourself and your experience.
Please let us know if this sounds like something that could work for you.
Thank you very much.
