Bottle/Sippy Cup Recommendations?

What are some of your top picks for safe bottles, sippy cups, & breastfeeding supplies that are free of the chemical Bisphenol A?

I recently found BornFree (http://www.newbornfree.com/pics/bornfree/about.htm) which seems to have a great selection of natural products but would like to know what else is out there. Thanks!

Sippy Cup suggestions

My daughter likes the Nuby soft straw cups and sippy cups, they are supposed to be BPA free.  They are a pain to clean, but otherwise okay.

bottles

We used glass bottles, it was super easy to clean dishwasher safe and Ias far I know there wont be issue with chemicals or other later toxins from glass.

We saved them to use with our next kid on the way

Medela bottles

If you pump, Medela supplies are all BPA free and have been for a long time.

Also, BPA is not really harmful if you hand wash your bottles, don't microwave them, and don't use extremely abrasive brushes/sponges (like a scouring pad) or extremely corrosive soaps. If you use standard bottle brushes and baby-friendly dish soap, then you're fine and you don't have to find new bottles.

We used a BornFree sippy which was okay. Mostly we used a regular cup and held it for baby until baby got the hang of the tipping/sipping (practice in the bathtub).

bottles

Advent all the way. They also transition to sippy cups, with handles or without.

Sorry, not sure about Advent and the chemical Bisphenol A. Check out the website though

Avent bottles vs Avent Sippys

Avent bottles have BPA. Their Sippy cups do not. But I heard that you can use the sippy cups with the Avent nipples so that is an alternative to completely throwing out your bottle system. Their pacifiers also have BPA which was a big bummer for us because they are the only ones with covers for them.

BPA-Free Rundown:

These seem to all be good options.

- Green to Grow BPA-free bottles

  • Klean Kanteen steel bottles
  • Born Free BPA-free and glass bottles
  • Evenflo Glass bottles and BPA-free plastic bottles (PS - not all their plastic bottles are nontoxic, read the labels)
  • Foogo (from Thermos)
  • Safe Sippy

Many of these products can be found locally at REI, Goods for the Planet, Birth and Beyond, and, of course, online.
