Older Moms Group meets regularly--Join us!
Older Moms of Western SF began meeting in May of 2009 and we've had regular gatherings and walks ever since. In parenting, as in so many things, establishing and maintaining a good support network is crucial;
SHARECARE WITH 2 YEAR OLD
Experienced mother of a two year old available for full or part-time sharecare at the hourly rate of ten dollars per. My schedule is flexible. I can host or travel. I am cpr and first aid certified and have great references. I believe in a lot of outdoor time. Each day, mornings are spent outdoors at rec centers, parks, libraries, beaches, etc. Afternoons are reserved for indoor nap time. Please call 415-409-4923 to set up a time to meet. It is best to reach me via telephone. Please leave a message if I am not home. I look forward to establishing long-term committments and providing the best care this city has to offer.
Mom looking to care for another infant
Hi, I'm staying home with my 2 month old son, Isaiah, for 4 months and am looking for another baby of about the same age to care for with mine during that time. Ideally, I'd like this to be for December-February, but temporary arrangements of 3-4 weeks are fine too. Maybe you're going to start daycare but want to wait until your baby's a bit older, or you're on a waiting list? I'd like to work with a family 2-3 days per week, at my place or yours. The pay is somewhat negotiable, but I'm thinking of around $15/hour. I'm a very respectful, loving, fun mom with lots of enthusiasm, fun, awareness and attachment. If you're interested, we can meet to see whether we're a fit. I'd also love any suggestions for places to inquire about this sort of arrangement. Thanks! -Stella
See Mom Work Stories
"Have you ever noticed that even today in the year 2008, virtually every children's book you pick up portrays the mom character doing domestic tasks, often wearing an actual apron?
We have spent a great deal of time working with public library personnel and other experts to compile a list of books for kids that feature moms who work outside the home.
For many of us, these uncommon books illustrate a far more realistic picture of family life than all the classics put together."
